Scoping out shaft characteristics and thinking about the specs of my old Taylor Made Ti 8. Your review title You must enter a title. The standard and Tour FT-3 models have other differences from a construction standpoint. Even with the wind, in the air is a pretty good poke for me. Golfbidder provided the usual quality service. I find the club excellent and the loft combined with the stiff shaft have helped me in getting a more penetrating shot, straighter and therefore more distance but especially more consistency. But there are some important differences in how the FT-3 is put together.

The Callaway Big Bertha F-3 FT-3 driver is an improvement on the composite Fusion driver, but only it’s mother would love it’s looks! At first its higher kick point than the Taylor Made Tour-S I had made the club seem a bit less alive in my hands, but the feel has returned over time — not a pole at all, but very stable feeling.

I now trust it as much as my old Ti. Media Reviews Golf World. Can I hit it low? Given the huge array of lofts and weight positions, the FT-3 should appeal to nearly any type of golfer. Brilliant club, goes for absolute miles!


This club keeps growing on me. Even into the breeze the carry was glorious. I was amazed at the hang callawwy my drives had with the FT-3, and the carry distance that went with it.

There are three dots on the heel of each club along with a designation of whether that clubhead has the Draw, Neutral or Fade weighting. Can I hit it high? Yes, technology is a good thing, and this driver has plenty of it.

Good value for money, and easier to hit than my old clubs. The FT-3 is much more sleek, with a uniform wet black paint job over the top of the clubhead.

callaaway The carbon body still makes the driver sound different to a titanium head, but boy is it powerful. I’m now hitting the ball 30 – 40 yards longer consistently and a lot straighter too – which is nice. In all, each FT-3 driver has more than 40 grams of what Callaway calls discretionary weight redistributed to key areas of the clubhead.


Forget all the new clubs and go fo a second hand one of these you wont be disappointed. This callawwy to increase the moment of inertia MOI to make the club more forgiving on off-center hits. Regardless of the model or weighting inside, the construction of the FT-3 driver stands alone from anything else on the market.

So in conclusion it looks amazing, works fantastic and added 40 yards to my driving, which was long anyway. The face is also very deep but not very wide. I’ve read in Today’s Golfer that fsion shaft is the most important thing in the club as this is the engine, well what an engine this has. This is by far and away the best driver ever made in my eyes. Harder to hit than my cc Spalding Cannon I bought in My second round with the FT-3 in my bag was my low round of the summer, and I improved it by three strokes the following round.
